FAMILY BUILT

Meet the Builders

Hi, we're Sofie, Bella and Dad (also known as Wrinkles).

Little Big Lab started at our kitchen table.

We discovered that AI could help turn homework, stories and wild ideas into real playable games.

What began as a fun family experiment quickly became something bigger: a growing collection of educational games for other families to enjoy.

Every game starts with an idea, a school topic, a question, or sometimes just a silly conversation.

Kitchen table ideas become playable games.

How a Game Is Born

A simple family process: imagine it, sketch it, build it, break it, fix it, then share it.

  • Story idea
  • Random question
2

Sketch

  • Draw ideas
  • Discuss rules
  • Imagine what would be fun
3

4

Why We Built Little Big Lab

Technology Confidence

Children should feel comfortable creating with technology, not just consuming it.

Learning Through Play

Games can transform practice into curiosity and exploration.

Creators, Not Consumers

We want children to discover they can build things too.

Meet the Team

Three builders. One kitchen table. Lots of ideas.

Sofie

๐ŸŽจ The Creative One

  • Sofie loves drawing, creative projects and helping turn ideas into games.
  • She is often the first person to imagine what a game could become and the last person to stop adding new ideas.

Bella

๐Ÿƒ The Sporty One

  • Bella loves movement, challenges and testing games until every bug has been discovered.
  • If there is a way to break a game, Bella will probably find it.

Wrinkles

๐Ÿ”ง The Builder

  • Wrinkles enjoys turning ideas into projects and helping bring Sofie and Bella's ideas to life.
  • He spends most of his time building, fixing and experimenting with new ideas.

Fun fact: Has been building tools, websites and learning resources long before Little Big Lab existed.

Every team has builders. This team also has Mum.

Mum

โค๏ธ Chief Sanity Officer

While everyone else is busy building games, testing ideas and covering the kitchen table with new ideas, Mum somehow keeps the whole operation running.

She's the organiser, the planner, the photographer, the crafty one and the person responsible for feeding the entire team.

When the builders get carried away with yet another project, Mum gently reminds us that things like dinner, laundry and sleep still exist.

Little Big Lab probably wouldn't survive a week without her.

Fun fact: Mum is also the photographer behind our BellaShoot photography business, loves creative projects and crafts, and somehow manages to keep the Little Big Lab factory running smoothly.

Other Things We've Built

Little Big Lab is just one of the projects we've built together over the years.

Along the way we've created businesses, websites, tools, communities and plenty of experiments. Some are for professionals, some are for families, and some simply started as ideas we couldn't resist building.

Curious? Click any project to take a look.

A Note From Dad

The best part of Little Big Lab isn't building the games.
It's watching Sofie and Bella realise they can build things too.

For more than twenty years I've built tools, software and educational resources.

When AI arrived, I realised something exciting: the same technology professionals use to create software could now help children turn their ideas into real things.

Little Big Lab is our family's experiment to see what happens when creativity, curiosity and technology meet around a kitchen table.

What's Next?

The adventure is just getting started.

  • Build 100 educational games
  • Turn more school topics into adventures
  • Share game-building ideas with other families
  • Keep learning together
  • Have fun along the way
  • Help more kids become creators
